I was Deleted From The Voter Rolls in California Today, What about You?

I was afraid of this.
I have been a Registered Democrat for 20 years.
I didn't recieve my Voter Info Pack from New California Secretary Of State Deborah Bowen, whom I voted for in the 2006 midterm election.
This concerned me as of a week ago.
I called the Secretary of State's office and was told to go to LOS ANGELES COUNTY REGISTRAR OF VOTERS and that is where the fun begins.

I called the number on the site [phone]
to check on the status of my Democratic Registration. I was worried that something must be wrong, since I didn't recieve my voter info mailer.

 That number never picked up.

It was an endless recording, telling me I would be waited on in the order my call was recieved. Yesterday I waited for over 90 minutes, and no one ever picked up.

Today at 8:00am I went to my polling place with My DL, my Passport, and 3 pieces of unopened mail in case I had to prove my identity.

When I got there, my worst fears were realized. I was NOT ON THE LIST OF ELIGABLE VOTERS.
Not on the Dem List.
Not on the Undeclared list.
Nowhere.
I have not moved. I have not changed my mailing address. I have been in the same Apartment for 6 years. Nothing has changed since the midterm elections.

I was given a "provisional ballot".
This sux.
I have no way to verify that my vote will be counted unless I wait until 40 days AFTER THE ELECTION to call 800-815-2666 and press 3 to verify that my vote was counted.

Call me an idiot, but I am REALLY BUMMED! I know that in the State of California, with millions of Dems voting today, that my one vote probably won't make a huge difference. The thing is, it REALLY MATTERS TO ME!
I am an Obama supporter and volunteer. I have never volunteered for ANY candidate in my 47 years on this planet. I have donated money, time as a phone banker, canvasser, and internet advocate. This vote REALLY MATTERED TO ME, and now, it is in question whether it will even be counted.

I want to hear from other Dems around the country.
Any funny business at the polls?

I want to hear from you, especially if you live in California.
Please say a prayer that no matter WHO you are voting for, that no funny business takes place, and that somehow God lays his hand on this election to make it all fair.
I am really disappointed.
